GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT MALMÖ ARENA VENUE AREA
Tickets
Tickets may be purchased via the official ticket sales agency, www.ticketmaster.com, search for “table tennis” or “bordtennis”. Tickets can also be purchased outside the venue Malmö Arena, opening hours: Sunday-Saturday (10-16 of September): 14.00-19:00, Sunday (17th of September): 12:00-18:00.
Seating
During the group stage (10, 11 and 12 September) and round of 16 (14 of September), free seating applies – even if you have a specific seat on your ticket. During the last three days (15, 16 and 17 September) you have to sit on the seat indicated on your ticket.
Opening Hours
The venue opens 30 minutes before the first match during group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals. During the final day the venue opens two hours before the first scheduled final. The venue closes directly after the last match.
Public Transportation
The easiest way to get to the venue is by train (Pågatågen or Öresundstågen) to “Malmö Hyllie”. The venue is located just 80 meters from the train station. Several busses (line: 6, 9, 10, 150, 170 and 300) also stop outside the venue at bus stop “Malmö Hyllie station”.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available in the whole venue, connect to: “malmo arena guest”.
Food and beverages
There are several options in the venue if you want to buy food, snacks or something drink. Only card payment is possible and the most common debit and credit cards are accepted. The bars open during the afternoons from first day.
Shopping
Just next to the venue you find one of the biggest malls in Sweden, Emporia. You will find most of the big brands together with local stores, cafes and restaurants.
Medical Duty
Medical service is provided in the venue. For emergency, call: 112
Exhibition area
You find the exhibition area on the entrance floor to the left.
Fan Zone
The Fan Zone, with table tennis, virtual table tennis (VR), padel table tennis and many other activities together with a bar and exhibition booth will be found on the opposite side of the entrance. Follow the markings on the floor.
Results
Results can be found on ETTU’s website, www.ettu.org.
Photo
You are very welcome to take photos with your mobile phone or pocket camera (not cameras with big lenses). However, it is not allowed to use flash because it will disturb the players. If you do not respect this you will risk to get rejected from the venue.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the venue! If you smoke inside the venue the fire alarm may set off and the venue will be evacuated. You will personally be responsible for causing the evacuation and you may be prosecuted according to Swedish law.
Security control
Before entering the venue you and your bag will be searched. Professional cameras/cameras with big lenses, recording devices, and selfie sticks are not allowed. Umbrellas, chairs, and bags/backpacks bigger than 40x40x20 are not allowed. You can not bring your own food or drinks into the venue. Electric scooters and bikes together with batteries needs to stay outside the venue.
Wardrobe
The wardrobe in the venue will not be open.
Leaving the Venue
If you wish to leave the venue and then re-enter during the same day, don’t forget to get a stamp on your hand. The staff in the entrance will help you.
